The old BBS ate my initial topic, which was 18% of the reason behind my upgrade to the latest phpbb version. I'm hopeful this version won't eat threads, and won't do the whole 'this post can't be displayed' thing....

That said, I heard Turtle Lake for NYE? That would be AWESOME!!!

When you say T.Lake, do you mean stay there or come back? My concerns are 1. that they may not have any rooms left and 2. that we'd have to have DD's if we're driving back...

But I'm all for it...

And also Jennifer and I would have a party if the casino thing falls through.

Can anyone give TI a call this week to see if they have availability?

Treasure Island offers free shuttle service for groups of 15 or more:

http://www.treasureislandcasino.com/NYE ... sportation

NEW YEAR'S ONLY FREE TRANSPORTATION

Treasure Island Resort & Casino wants everyone to be safe when celebrating the New Year. So what better time to take advantage of our Free Transportation offer? If you live within an 80-mile radius of The Island and have a group of 15 or more, we will come pick you up AND bring you home for no cost at all.* Don’t have a group of 15? Check out one of our New Year’s Eve FREE route buses and come ring in the New Year at The Island, where good (and safe!) times are always in the cards!

For more information or reservations call 1-800-222-7077, extension 2594.

Reservations for groups of 15 or more must be made at least 2 weeks in advance. Minimum $100 deposit required.

Having sober cabs for transport is ridiculous, IMHO. It's no fun to be a sober cab at all, even if you don't normally drink a lot (me). I think we've been risky enough between Cannon Falls and Los Angeles with only having a couple and transporting. I'd rather not try the sober cab route.

I like the free shuttle idea (if we could get 15) but I see that they require two weeks notice plus a deposit (assuming we get that back if we go)?

And I agree, sobercab (well, driving in general) for NYE sucks.

In addition, there are other hotels in Red Wing, so could do a combination of shuttle and/or taxi service.
Super 8

Nice!

I'd be down for that (+Jennifer). Who else is in?
